Good things are happening as the school year draws to a close. This week the final plans for the motor attachment hub were finished by Phil Tiller's Design Drafting/CAD class. The design calls for the taperlock be machined from a bar of TGP (very hard steel) shaft. This could take place in the next week or two.

Last week the motor spacer laminates were completed and I have a large pile that will be used to set the final distance between the motor and torque converter. Two boxes that are sized for a pair of golf cart batteries were recently made by the welding class as well as a massive support that will reinforce the motor mount and the integral frame.

The support will be painted, fitted with some 2" hitch receivers after some cutting and installed next week. This will allow a wide variety of attachments that can include a tow bar, a police type bumper and who knows what else? Shown in the photo as well is the transmission cooler and remote filter.
I couldn't resist some artistic expression while I was waiting for parts so last weekend I decided to re-design my grille. It was out of the car for the frame work, so why not? What we have here is the first ever new generation Saab "Electric" grille!
Pretty cool eh?
More to come soon!

I really like the grille! It looks like OEM.
Keep up the good work. I'm excited to see Saabrina rolling!
